November 18th: Book from Childhood

Prompt: A book from your childhood

Not book. Books.

The Little House on the Prairie books were EVERYTHING to me. I had started reading chapter books and saw these books in the school library. I loved the TV Show and thought “Maybe these books would be good.” So there is was, 1st grader with my Laura Ingalls Wilder fan girl moment of sitting on the floor in the library reading the first book. Then my mom bought me the entire set of books. And I devoured them all and started over…3 times.

Laura was tenacious, stubborn, compassionate, and sassy. And I wanted to be her and live Jack and Pa. Not Mary so much…but otherwise, I was happy to sleep in the loft and go on adventures in the 1 room schoolhouse.
