How to Slowly Kill Yourself and Others in America: Essays

This book was raw, poetic, and beautiful. It literally felt like I was eavesdropping on someone’s personal thoughts and conversations. This is deeply moving and a bit stressful. I knew it was something I needed to read when I felt myself feel defensive at his accusations against President Obama scattered here and there. That is meaningful and important for me to hear and see. It tells me that my perspective is skewed towards my own whiteness and I needed to hear this alternative view.

This is an American story. Not the shiny stories we tell. But the true story that needs telling.
