Systems Thinking Basics

Goodreads Challenge: Book #58 of 2020

I worked my ass off trying to get the assignments in this book read and completed for the grad school course I’m taking right now (Organizational Theory & Behavior). And though this book looks super boring…it is actually intensely interesting. But listen…don’t tell my professor. I enjoyed complaining about this one and he enjoyed making me work hard in the middle of a pandemic lockdown and layoffs.

I can’t say I’d recommend it, because I can’t imagine just picking this book up and being like “Excellent! Let’s draw Behaviors Over Time” graphs and causal loops for fun!” But if you happen to need this sort of systems thinking in your organization, this is a good primer on how to bring these concepts together to build a learning organization.
