Along the way, I have had to learn (often the hard way) that one of the most vital lessons we must learn is the art of setting boundaries. Setting boundaries is an act of self-care and self-respect that allows us to protect our well-being, maintain healthy relationships, and prevent others from taking advantage of our innate goodness. Without setting boundaries, we risk compromising our emotional, mental, and physical health.
Starting Monday, I will do a short video and blog series on the importance and art of setting healthy boundaries. I’m doing this because I see this over and over in my coaching practice and among my friends and colleagues. People push you as far as you allow…so let’s allow less!
Until then, consider this your permission slip to remember this: It is not selfish to prioritize your needs and establish boundaries. Instead it is an essential step towards personal growth and protecting your joy. Embrace the power of boundaries, and watch as your relationships and overall well-being flourish.
